About Us

Who Are We?

We are a small family business in the Bald Mountains of Western North Carolina. All of our artisan soaps are crafted, cut, and packaged by hand.

Why Do We Make Soap?

During the pandemic, we realized that cold process soap was a way to turn a necessary item into an everyday luxury. The difference in washing our hands with cheap liquid soap vs artisan bar soap was so extreme, we were hooked from the start. The experience inspired us to start making our own soap, as we could customize it to address all the issues we had with commercial bars. We found most soaps to be too soft, mushy, and harsh on our sensitive skin, with a lather that lacked a satisfying body and depth. Additionally, we were able to make sure that our soaps contained only the best & responsibly sourced ingredients, with no unnecessary and potentially irritating fillers. After testing countless formulas, we developed a few key recipes that resonated with us and others who tried them. We are so proud to share those recipes with you. We hope they bring you as much joy and comfort as they do to us.

Our Special Formulas

Our blends of oils are carefully selected and balanced for the unique properties they lend to soap, whether it be for their cleansing ability (strong or mild), the hardness and longevity of the bar (how quickly it will melt away in the shower), or the type of lather (big and bubbly, or dense and nourishing). We take pride in our ingredients and techniques to produce a truly exceptional bar of soap.

Formulated with sensitive skin and noses in mind, all of our soaps are lightly fragranced to not be too overpowering or irritating. We also offer fragrance-free soaps in the Plain & Simple collection.

We include natural additives such as clays, herbs, and essential oils to act as colorants, exfoliants and gentle fragrances along with skin safe mineral based colorants.
